Silent

Silent is a bronze screech owl by Richard Burke, resting on a stone base with a compact, grounded presence. The form is closely held, the owl’s posture inward and contemplative, conveying a sense of stillness rather than display.

Burke’s sculptural approach is evident in the balance between texture and restraint—the surface alive with subtle variation, while the overall form remains simplified and resolved. The relationship between the owl and its base gives the piece a quiet architectural quality, allowing it to read as both natural form and composed object.

Intimate in scale, Silent invites close viewing, rewarding attention with nuance and quiet character.
