Reserved

Reserved is a bronze sculpture of a flammulated owl by Richard Burke, defined by its compact form and attentive, forward-facing gaze. Perched on a natural base, the figure feels grounded yet alert, holding a quiet, contained energy.

Burke’s sculptural approach emphasizes suggestion over detail. Feathers are indicated through layered textures and subtle shifts in surface, allowing light to move across the bronze and reveal depth within the form. The patina—rich and varied—adds dimension, with soft transitions between warm bronze and cooler tones.

Small in scale but strong in presence, Reserved captures a moment of still awareness. It is a piece that draws the viewer in gradually, revealing its character through quiet observation rather than overt gesture.
