Oracle

Oracle is a raven sculpture carved from siltstone by Richard Burke, defined by its smooth, elongated form rising from a rugged, natural base. The contrast between the refined surface of the bird and the raw texture of the stone beneath creates a quiet tension between intention and origin.

Burke reduces the raven to its essential lines—curved back, forward gaze, and strong beak—allowing the form to emerge with clarity and restraint. The stone itself carries warmth and variation, with subtle shifts in tone that enhance the sense of weight and permanence.

Rooted and contemplative, Oracle evokes the presence of the raven as both observer and symbol. It is a piece that feels ancient and grounded, holding a quiet authority within its form.
