Resolved

Resolved is a carved stone boreal owl by Richard Burke, defined by its rounded form and steady, forward presence. The figure feels settled and complete, with a quiet sense of balance held between the smooth, refined surfaces and the raw, natural base.

Burke simplifies the owl’s features into essential shapes—broad facial plane, softened wings, and a gently grounded stance—allowing the character of the stone to remain present. Variations in tone and texture move across the surface, revealing the material’s natural depth and history.

Calm and assured, Resolved carries a sense of quiet conclusion. It is a piece that feels anchored and self-contained, offering a subtle but enduring presence within a space.
