Secluded

Secluded is a bronze long eared owl sculpture by Richard Burke, defined by its elongated form and distinctive ear tufts, rising in a quiet, vertical presence. The figure feels inward and self-contained, with a subtle turning of the head that suggests awareness without invitation.

Burke’s sculptural approach balances abstraction and observation. Feathers are not fully described, but instead emerge through carved planes and layered textures, allowing light to move across the surface. The patina—rich bronze with touches of verdigris—adds depth and variation, enhancing the sense of age and stillness.

Rather than calling attention outward, Secluded holds its space with a calm, introspective energy. It is a piece that invites a closer look, revealing its character gradually through form, surface, and presence.
