Skyscraper

Skyscraper by Larry Holt is an original stone and forged metal sculpture incorporating natural stone and an unexpected 8-ball. A slender figure rises above a precariously balanced tower of stones, holding the moon in one hand while reaching upward toward a star with the other.

Holt’s characteristic elongated figure gives the sculpture an exaggerated sense of height and aspiration. Below, the stacked stones and 8-ball create a playful tension between balance and instability, while above, the moon and star extend the figure’s reach beyond the earthly into something more imaginative and infinite.

Whimsical yet contemplative, Skyscraper reflects Holt’s distinctive approach to sculpture—bringing together natural materials, found objects, and expressive metalwork in a work that suggests ambition, chance, balance, and the human impulse to keep reaching.
