Sapphire Twist Form

A commanding hand-blown glass sculpture by Louis Andrew Schaffer, this piece rises in a sweeping, asymmetrical form that draws the eye upward in a continuous, fluid motion. The elongated neck twists and extends from a grounded base, creating a sense of lift, tension, and balance.

Rich sapphire blue glass is layered with metallic gold and silver tones, shifting with the light and revealing depth within the form. The surface moves between opacity and translucence, adding to its dynamic presence.

Both sculptural and expressive, this work exemplifies Schaffer’s ability to merge technical mastery with a strong sense of movement and form.

This piece has been placed in a private collection.
