Emerald Teardrop Form

A hand-blown glass sculpture by Louis Andrew Schaffer, this piece takes on a refined teardrop form, rising in a smooth, continuous line to a narrow, elongated point. The silhouette is both elegant and quietly dynamic, emphasizing balance and vertical movement.

Rich emerald glass is layered with soft metallic tones, creating depth within the form and subtle variation across the surface. Light passes through the translucent areas while reflecting off the interior layers, giving the piece a shifting, luminous quality.

Minimal in structure yet expressive in presence, this work reflects Schaffer’s ability to create sculptural impact through clarity of form and nuanced use of color.

This piece has been placed in a private collection.
