Cobalt Teardrop Form

A refined hand-blown glass sculpture by Louis Andrew Schaffer, this piece takes on a classic teardrop form, rising in a smooth, continuous line to a narrow, elongated point. The silhouette is both elegant and quietly dynamic, drawing the eye upward with a sense of balance and restraint.

Rich cobalt blue glass is layered with soft metallic tones, creating depth and subtle contrast across the surface. The interplay between opacity and translucence allows light to move through the form, revealing delicate internal structure and line.

Both minimal and expressive, this work reflects Schaffer’s ability to create presence through simplicity of form and precision of technique.

This piece has been placed in a private collection.
