Freeform Blown Glass Plate

A fluid, sculptural form in hand-blown glass, this freeform plate by Louis Andrew Schaffer captures movement through color and shape. Soft transitions of aqua, ivory, amber, and deep red flow across the surface, creating a sense of depth and quiet motion within the glass.

The organic, asymmetrical edge enhances its presence as both vessel and sculpture. Subtle variations in thickness and curvature catch and reflect light differently throughout the day, giving the piece a shifting, luminous quality.

Designed to be experienced from multiple perspectives, it may be displayed flat as a low-profile centerpiece or upright on a stand as a statement object. More than functional, it is an exploration of form, balance, and the expressive potential of glass.

The underside retains a lightly finished pontil mark, preserving a trace of the hand-blown process and the individuality of the piece.
