Edge of the Tide presents a quiet coastal moment within a circular field of fused glass. A single shorebird moves across a richly textured surface of warm sand tones, scattered shells, and glinting elements that catch the light like water or polished stone. The composition feels intimate and contained, as if viewed through a lens or tide pool. On the reverse, fractured white glass forms create a contrasting abstract pattern, adding a secondary visual experience when the piece is turned. Christine Kende’s layered fusing process brings depth and subtle luminosity, allowing light to shift across both sides of the work. Mounted on a custom metal stand, the piece is designed for display as a small, sculptural object as well as a wall work.
