Tide Runners

Tide Runners captures the quick, rhythmic movement of sandpipers along the shoreline, set against a bright coastal sky. Rounded cloud forms drift above, while layered glass suggests the motion of waves and scattered shoreline textures below. The bird, rendered in contrasting tones, brings focus and life to the composition, echoing the fleeting, energetic patterns of shorebirds at the water’s edge. Christine Kende’s fused glass technique builds dimension through layered elements and subtle variations in transparency, allowing light to shift across the surface and animate the scene. Playful yet grounded in observation, the piece reflects a familiar and beloved moment along the coast.
