Columbia River Maritime Museum with Coast Guard cutter, Lightship Columbia, pilot boats, and drift fisherman in Astoria.

Mike's Drift Boat

Mike's Drift Boat celebrates the working waterfront of Astoria through Bill W. Dodge's distinctive narrative style. Inspired by the Columbia River Maritime Museum and the vessels that define the lower Columbia, this artwork brings together history, commerce, recreation, and community in one engaging coastal scene.

The composition features the iconic Columbia River Maritime Museum, the historic Lightship Columbia, the USCGC Steadfast (WMEC-623), the Pilot boat, Pilot Tug Arrow No. 2, and a traditional drift boat representing "Mike." Seabirds, signal flags, and familiar maritime landmarks complete the scene, reflecting the rich nautical heritage of Astoria and the Columbia River.

Like many of Bill W. Dodge's paintings, Mike's Drift Boat invites viewers to slow down and discover details that celebrate the people, vessels, and stories of Oregon's North Coast. It is especially meaningful for boaters, Coast Guard families, fishermen, maritime enthusiasts, and anyone who loves Astoria.

Printed from Bill W. Dodge's original artwork, this fine art print is available in multiple sizes and makes an excellent gift for collectors of Pacific Northwest maritime art.
