Ray Gress, a skilled and versatile artist, is making a definite mark upon the West coast art community. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Ray has lived in Ventura County since 1969. He has maintained studior at Mandaly Bay and one near Morro Bay.

 

his interest in art comes naturally. His grandfather, Lee Wait, was a painter/artist for Universal Studios and his mother, Bea Gress is a popular California Artist. Even with his ancestory Ray is primarily self-taught, with his own style and ideas about art. 

 

Mr. Gress is pat president of the Coastal Arts Committee, founder of Art Colory west, and past owner of the Gress Gallery, which was sold in 1980. He was won awards at many statewide showings. 

 

Be it landscape, seascape, wildlife, Americana, etc, Ray Gress paitings are rapidly being added to collections of patrons who can forsee the artist's great potential. - Dated 2/1990
