Tail Splash in Iridescent Glass

Tail Splash in Iridescent Glass

Dynamic and luminous, Tail Splash in Iridescent Glass is part of Suzanne Vaughan’s Tail Series, exploring marine-inspired form through glass mosaic sculpture. The outward flare of the form suggests the moment a tail breaks the surface, capturing energy, motion, and release.

Hand-laid glass tiles shift in color from deep tones to reflective highlights, creating a surface that changes with the light. The iridescent quality adds movement across the form, while a vertical inlay of New Zealand Pua shells introduces natural variation and depth.

Both sculptural and expressive, this piece brings a sense of light, motion, and coastal influence into a space.
