Blue Tail Curl
Graceful and fluid, Tail Curl is part of Suzanne Vaughan’s Tail Series, exploring movement and form through mosaic and sculpture. The sweeping curve of the piece evokes the motion of water and marine life, with its upward arc and curling base creating a sense of balance and lift.
Hand-laid glass tiles in layered shades of blue wrap the surface, catching light from different angles and enhancing the sculptural form. At the center, Pua shells from New Zealand introduce subtle variation in color and texture, adding depth and a natural element to the composition.
Both dynamic and contemplative, this piece bridges fine art and design, an expressive sculptural form that brings movement, light, and coastal influence into a space.

Tail Series
The Tails Series is inspired by the movement and presence of whales, reflecting their role as powerful symbols in nature and cultural storytelling. Each sculpture captures a gesture of motion—swishing, lifting, or diving—expressed through flowing forms and hand-cut glass. Accents of pearl, abalone, or pua shell from New Zealand echo the shimmer and rhythm of the sea.
