Evening at the Steps

Bathed in the warmth of late-day light, Evening at the Steps captures a quiet moment of transition as day begins to soften into evening. A full arrangement of purple blooms rests along worn wooden steps, where layers of gold, violet, and deep blue create a sense of depth and gentle movement across the surface.

The interplay of light and shadow becomes the focus, sunlight settling across each step while cooler tones gather beneath. Expressive brushwork gives the scene a sense of presence, less about exact detail and more about atmosphere and feeling. The doorway beyond suggests a space just within reach, adding to the sense of pause before entering.

There is a calmness here, a lingering moment held between outside and in—familiar, grounded, and quietly reflective.
