Rothan's artistic journey deepened in 1978 after moving to Central Oregon, where the Cascade Mountains inspired her to depict angelic beings in both form and feeling. Her tender portrayals of children with angels remain a central theme throughout her work.

A BFA graduate of the Columbus College of Art and Design and Alumni of the Year in 1992, Rothan also illustrated for Highlights Magazine and several spiritual and children’s books.
