Nikole Rae Peacock
Seascapes on Driftwood and Canvas
Nikole Rae Peacock is a contemporary painter whose work explores water, horizon, and movement through layered abstraction. Working on both reclaimed lumber and canvas, she is drawn to materials that already carry a history, surfaces marked by time, weather, and use—which become an integral part of each composition.

Her earlier work was defined by a restrained palette of blues and teals, reflecting a deep connection to water and coastal environments. In recent years, her paintings have evolved to include richer color and subtle accents of gold, adding warmth, contrast, and a quiet luminosity while maintaining the calm, meditative quality that defines her work.

Nikole’s process is intuitive and physical. Layers are built, scraped back, and reworked, allowing texture and movement to emerge organically. Whether painted on reclaimed wood or canvas, each piece invites the viewer into a reflective space one that feels both expansive and grounded, familiar and quietly transformative.

Inspired by natural rhythms and the emotional resonance of place, Nikole’s paintings are less about depicting a landscape and more about evoking the feeling of standing within it, where water, sky, and memory intersect.
