Whale Legend:
A long time ago, Raven flew into the mouth of a whale and spent his days happily eating fish the whale caught. When he tired of the fish diet, Raven ate the whale's heart, and the whale died and floated ashore. But Raven continued to eat the inside of the whale. He was happy and sang songs. Some men nearby heard the singing, came over and found the sound was coming from a beached whale. Delighted, they alerted the people of their village who came to butcher the lucky find.
When no one was looking, Raven flew out of the whale's blow hole and called to the people, "Did you hear singing coming from that whale?" Everyone acknowledged they had. Raven screeched loudly, "Don't you know that when a dead whale sings, he is poisonous? Don't eat ANY of it!" The frightened people ran, leaving their boxes of butchered meat behind. Raven continued his feast until the last scrap was gone.
