Christine Hippeli is a mixed media, gesture-driven abstract expressionist who works with—though never limited to—acrylics, oil sticks, graphite, and collage on paper. Her creative journey began with photography during her teenage years in the Arizona desert and unexpectedly evolved into painting in 2017.

A self-taught artist with no formal training, Christine finds deep joy and meaning in exploring unfamiliar materials and techniques. Her work is intuitive and expressive, often revealing echoes of nature—trees, florals, and mountains—though not always intentionally. Each piece is an emotional projection, a visual manifestation of feeling and impulse pushed outward onto the surface.

Christine describes her process as equal parts game, puzzle, and act of faith. Through her work, she invites the viewer to pause, question, imagine, and perhaps leave with a shifted sense of perspective—even if only for a moment.
