Sydney Laurence
Dramatic Alaskan Scenes
Sydney Laurence was known for painting at dusk when the light was a bit more dramatic. This painting would have been used to entice people to visit Alaska. It is a print on board that hung in a railway station. A plaque references the Northern Pacific Railroad as where this particular print was hanging.
Pictured on the right, the auction of the original painting is detailed. As you can see this print was cropped into a vertical shape. It is believed to have been printed in 1947.
