MELANIE BURNS

A Symphony of Art - Acrylic Sealife Paintings

Melanie Burns is a self-taught artist whose vibrant, fluid acrylic and resin paintings are deeply inspired by her upbringing in rural Alaska. Spending her formative years immersed in the natural beauty of the Alaskan wilderness—exploring forests, kayaking with whales, and experiencing the rhythmic lull of ocean waves—Melanie developed a profound connection to the sea and its ever-changing moods.

Her artwork captures the dynamic energy of oceanscapes and sunsets, blending colors in a symphony that reflects both the intensity and tranquility of nature. Through techniques like acrylic pouring and resin layering, Melanie allows colors to interact organically, creating impressionistic pieces that evoke the movement and emotion of the natural world.

Now based in Sequim, Washington, Melanie continues to explore new ideas and techniques, sharing her passion for the sea and its myriad hues with collectors and art enthusiasts alike.
